SNOB - A SNOMED Browser
Presentation
The superficial presentation of the TCM is as a regular SNOMED CT extension: it comprises a set of ASCII text files each of which complies with the current standard release format specification for a SNOMED concept, relationship, description, definition, subset or crossmap table.
The TCM also includes a machine readable concept model file: sct_metamodel_tcm. The simplified format of this file is non-standard, but is derivable from the proposed MRCM specification in development by a project group of the IHTSDO Research and Innovation committee.
Like any other extension, the TCM can therefore be mounted within most SNOMED CT terminology server and/or browser implementations in one or both of two alternate load configurations:
- EITHER as a free-standing simulacrum of full content. In this configuration the three ‘tcm_stub’ tables : sct_concept_tcm_stub, sct_relationship_tcm_stub, sct_description_tcm_stub must be loaded first. These contain that part (and only that part) of SNOMED CT content proper that is required to host the TCM model as an extension.
- OR as an extension ‘grafted’ in the usual way onto the entirety of any official release of SNOMED CT content made since 2002. In this configuration the three tcm_stub files should be omitted.
