Searching compound words
Most languages, including english, contain compound words, consisting of one or more words, e.g. wheelchair. But some people write the compound word instead as two separate words, e.g. wheel chair instead of wheelchair. This also occurs in SNOMED.
SNOB tries to account for these different forms during the search process, although at the moment this only works when the compound word is written as two separate words. So if you are looking for wheelchair, you should enter the search terms wheel chair. SNOB will then return concepts containing either wheel chair or wheelchair.
If you only want the concepts that specifically contain wheel chair or wheelchair, you should enter the search term between [ and ], respectively [wheel chair] or [wheelchair].
