Post-coordinate - classifier
Starting from version 3.20, SNOB contains a classifier. After all, what is the use of post-coordination if you can't coordinate (i.e. classify) your post-coordinated concept? Think about this! In the (far) future your alert system is linked to some concept, then you add a new post-coordinated concept (e.g. a diagnosis) that should, according to its definition, be classified below the concept connected to the alert system. But your system doesn't have a classifier, which means it doesn't know where to put your post-coordinated concept in the hierarchy, which means you won't see the alert!
The SNOB Classifier takes your post-coordinated concept and computes its supers (i.e. parents) and subs (i.e. children). It also shows if your post-coordinated concept equals an existing pre-coordinated concept. (Make sure you have downloaded a Concept Model for the following). As an example:
- select the concept [Procedure] (71388002)
- press F9 to open the interface to define a post-coordinated concept
- add the criterion [Procedure site = Anatomical structure] from the Concept Model
- press the blue right arrow right of [Anatomical Structure]
- browse to [Structure of nervous system]
- press the red left arrow to create the criterion [Procedure site = Structure of nervous system]
- select Classifier and wait a bit
